While the Commons is a wonderful place to live, we do occasionally have a turnover of homes as people move through life’s changes. If you wish, you can leave your contact information here and we will keep it in the event that a home becomes available, and then the owner can contact you regarding a possible sale or rent.

600 Square Foot 1 Bedroom/1 Bath Furnished Light-Filled Casita with Private Entrance and all utilities and high speed Wi-Fi included — $1,280/month
Located on the nature reserve trail and the Santa Fe River gives you easy access to downtown by foot or bicycle.
The nice open floor plan features beautiful vigas, a tongue and groove wood ceiling, and is immaculate although 15 year old. It is nicely oriented toward the south-east and offers sunrise and sunset views. Two skylights (one can be opened to bring nice ventilation in summer) and double pane aluminium windows offer a great light and views on the Sangre de Christo mountains and Frenchie’s field park. One side overlooks the community orchard while a small enclosed xeriscape garden offers some outside space with a table for outdoor dining. It can be shaded by an outside extendable awning.
Inside, a radiant heating system needs barely to be activated because of the solar exposure of the whole house. A Pergo floor offers consistent sturdiness while it makes it very soft and comfortable to the feet. It is great for dancing! The kitchen is fully equipped with a full size refrigerator and freezer, Miele ceramic cooktop, granite counter top with a small oven, plates and silverware, and all that is needed to cook gourmet meals. Maple cabinets offer plenty of storage space that is given as well with several book shelves and closets. The bathroom is equiped with a luxury steam room for two which is a nice feature in this dry climate; it is also a conventional shower with a water filter. Sheets and towels are included.
It is very nicely furnished with beautiful tibetan cabinet, oriental rug, and tempurpedic queen mattress a few years old.
I lived myself in this space for a few years and loved it; now I moved to a bigger house close by. No pet, no smoking at all. I have paid attention to the cleaning products used; however, if you are environmentally sensitive, this place would not be adequate for you as some recent remodeling has been done. Ideal for a single person or a quiet couple.
Available November 1, 17; possible long term lease.
Custom 3 Bedroom/2 Bath 1,750 Square Foot House — $419,000
Since its inception 25 years ago, The Commons on the Alameda Cohousing Community has been enriching the lives of adults and children through a shared intention to cultivate positive interactions, to encourage social and ecological responsibility, and to work together harmoniously as neighbors. Our children and adults thrive in an “it takes a village” environment. The Commons has been our home since the beginning, but we must leave this idyllic environment due to illness. We had planned to live here for our lifetimes.
Thus, we are offering our home for sale: It’s a custom home, owner-designed and owner-built Santa Fe style. We are the original owners who built in 1994. It has 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, great room, kitchen and dining area, with a study, and a 300 sq. ft. studio. We have a lovely shaded patio. Many custom features, including chip-carved beams in great room, chip-carved headers above all windows; tile floors and bathrooms. The house is well insulated, with radiant heat floors, double paned Pella windows, 7 skylights, and 12 solar panels. There are storage closets off the entrance portal and the private carport.
