The Commons on the Alameda is a cohousing community which means that in all aspects of its design and development, we have sought to engender a spirit of conviviality and neighborliness. To get a better idea of what this means in practice, we’re pleased to offer a few short media pieces about life in The Commons.
Visit Cultural Images Videos to watch three short streaming videos about life in the Commons created by community member, Katya Miller. If you would like to learn more about life in The Commons or if you would like to visit our community, feel free to email us at email@example.com.
Eldorado Sun Profile of The Commons
In 2003, the Eldorado Sun, a local newspaper, published a profile of The Commons. Although that paper is no longer in operation, we have taken the liberty to republish the article here.
Make and Mend meets every Tuesday from 4pm to 5pm for sewing, knitting, mending, and schmoozing. All Commoners welcome, and guests are welcome to stop by! An Irish music open jam session is held on the first Friday of every month in the Common House parlor beginning at 7pm. All are welcome to play and listen!
